ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Baran, the Wound Where Life Begins
The name "Baran" in Turkish means "the dug hole in the farm land for the seeds to grow." I was thinking of my friend Baran, and I drew the meaning of his name from a broader perspective, and it influenced a very familiar truth about my life. Through all the scars dug into my earth body, I learnt something and evolved to be my better self, like a Phoenix. If you don’t bleed to death from your scars, they grow scar tissue and you become stronger.

Altin Tatli (Golden Sweet) is an artist living and creating in Istanbul,Turkey. Altın’s multi-disciplinary practice explores the possibilities of an intergalactical and interdimensional language of art. As a maximalist artist, they use many forms of art to include us in their universe.
